How to Play BlackJack

Blackjack has it’s roots in French history, with a similar game by the name of “Vingt-un” being it’s counterpart. It is now called “21″ which references it’s French origins in the game with the same name. If you are considering researching this game to better your own skills, or develop as a card player, here are some basics to start you off.
First, depending on the version of twenty one you are playing, you may play with a single deck of fifty two, or more than one combined. The value of each card is very simple, as each number card corresponds with it’s value, meaning the number three card is worth three. The face cards, such as the jack, queen and king are all worth an equal ten. Aces are also worth eleven or one, depending on the player’s preference. This is also one of the few card games where the suits (hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs) do not matter, the value does not vary with each suit.
You will play against the house, or the banker, and not against other players. The objective is simple, get 21, or the closest possible without going over.
